At night, she seeks out silence. In that silence, her series of flower portraits comes to life: still encounters between light, colour, and emotion.
Anne moves through images the way she moves through life: with energy, with gentleness, with full presence. In her own studio, in the quiet of the night, she works on this series. In each flower she recognises a posture, a character. She observes what the flower reveals—in a bend, a shadow, a gesture. Sometimes powerful, sometimes hesitant. In that quiet moment she searches for the right tone of feeling and light. The light serves the flower; everything arises in the moment.
In those nocturnal hours of focus, Anne turns inward. The empathy that draws her toward people in life is then directed toward the flower. For hours she searches for the right composition, until the image settles and she feels: this is it. Then comes the calm.
Her images breathe vulnerability and vitality. They invite the viewer to look softly, to feel what exists in silence. This softness is amplified by the Japanese, hand-crafted Washi paper on which they are printed—a paper whose delicate texture evokes the feel of fabric.
Within each image lies a simple yet profound message:
Love—for the flower, for the moment, for life itself.
