Light has all the colours
David Joosten graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in
The Hague, where he was awarded the department prize.
Not long after, he stepped into the world of fashion and lifestyle, joining a creative agency in Amsterdam.
His early career was shaped by reaching for visual perfection —
constructing polished images with precision, made for carefully curated brands.
Over time, that perfection became more than a job requirement; it became a way of seeing.
Then, in 2021, during a trip to Greece, something shifted.
David felt the need to let go — to soften the edges, loosen
the rules, and create space for intuition, presence, and play.
He began to photograph and film not just to create, but to connect.
To ask himself: If I could offer something through my work,
what would it be?
The answer had been there all along: universal love.
Through his lens, David now returns to the basics — not staged, not styled, but real. He simply plays with sunlight in
natural surroundings. He searches for a quiet balance between light, environment, and feelings.
His work is about a love connection: with ourselves, with each other, and with the present moment
as it unfolds.
He invites you — gently, openly — to pause, to feel. To be drawn not by spectacle, but by presence.
To step into the stillness of an image and let it move you.
