Frits Droog has been instructor at the graphics and reprographic department at the 'Vrije Academie' the Hague for more than 15 years. He has been an autonomous artist since 1989. For the first few years hre made silkscreen prints in a geometric style, which was followed by phase of making collages.

In the meantime Frits has experimented with photography and collage. From 2000 on, he has been making acrylic paintings on canvas or museum cardboard, his firstly abstract style becomes more and more figurative. The works of Frits Droog are colourful and leave a cheerful and sunny impression. His work at times is compared to CoBrA, which has certainly influence him.
