A colorist at heart, thats what Saskia Bremer is known for in the art world. She splits her time between her atelier in Portugal and The Netherlands. Many mediterranean titles show her love for warm and sunny Europe: Jardim do Vale, Medronheira and Tres Flores. The optimism that her work exudes, the brightness and warm colour combinations, its these aspects that makes Bremer loved by a large audience.

Saskia Bremer began her existence as an artist at a late stage in her life. She ended her career as a teacher only in the mid-nineties, before focussing on a career in the arts. By this time she had already finished various evening courses and graduated from the Royal Academy of Visual Arts The Hague. Once she escaped the strict standards and rules of the academy, she developed her own stylistic tendencies. Spontaneity and intuition are two essential pillars.
