At the end of the Second World War, he studied at the academy in Montparnasse. In 1947 he met Corneille (1922-2010), who involved him in the Nederlandse Experimentele Groep (Dutch Experimental Group) in Holland (1948). He drew the cover for the second issue of ‘Reflex’. In 1948 he joined CoBrA with Jean-Michel Atlan (1913 to 1960), in which he was active enough to maintain his contacts in this area of expertise. His works were present at both exhibitions in Amsterdam in 1949 and the one in Liege in 1951. Doucet worked with all kinds of materials. After his time within CoBrA, he began painting in a more abstract way. His work has regularly been displayed at exhibitions in France, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands.
