Franz Bodner was born in Klagenfurt in May 1966. He spent his childhood in the idyllic alps of Austria and has been educated as an art and ornamental smith.

After a stint in healthcare in Vienna, where a successful career laid out for him, his creative genes took over and had him start painting. With success since quite swiftly numerous exhibitions in Austria followed.
Vienna became the craddle of his artistic career. When Franz in 1995 decided to move to The Netherlands it seemed that he needed to start all over again, but after 25 years of patience, ambition and professionality and a consistent positive attitude Bodner achieved many successes in The Netherlands and internationally.
With his paintings, sculptures and graphics Bodner wants to draw attention to the valuable and the smaller things and moments in life. His recognizable imagery in bright colours, make Bodners' own world visible. Althugh these images at first seem al sunshine and rainbows, they also contain some societal critique. Call it a push towards appreciating the essence of life.
