Education

When Ringo was only 13 years old he developed a strong sense of graphic design within the illegal street art circuit. A logical consequence of this development was his admission to the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. In February 2010 he graduated from the academy as a graphic designer. While Ringo studied at the academy in Rotterdam, he remained living in The Hague. In The Hague he creates most of his design work.

Street Art

In his current digital work his passion for graffiti and street art is still visible. Almost every work reflects his enthusiasm for this modern subculture. Walls covered in graffiti and objects in public spaces are still a big inspiration to Ringo. In 2008 he founded an artist collective with a few designers from The Hague. This collective is mainly involved in placing and modifying objects in public spaces. Today he is still active with this guerrilla collective and they recently achieved a great goal. A sculpture that was once placed illegally, is now legalised and placed in one of the biggest canals of The Hague (with the support of local politics and several neighbourhood campaigns).

Berlin series

During his first visit to Berlin Ringo was fascinated by this city. A cosmopolitan city full of contrasts; East vs. West, monumental architecture vs. new buildings, a rich history and yet modern. Everything is mixed together, but the artist still feels a harmony in this chaos. In the ‘Berlin Series’ Ringo tries to visualize these contradictions by creating his own world with a graphic mix of old stamps and modern street art images. The result is a fascinating piece of art that is as amazing as the city itself.

The artwork of Ringo can best be described as imaginative, raw and urban!
