Erwin Verkade graduated from the Willem de Kooning
Academy in Rotterdam in 2016. Inspired by Japanese culture, traditions, art and
mainly woodblock print from the period 1603 – 1867. He likes to try to depict the
serenity and magic of this culture with his own techniques and compositions.

“Nothing is still”
In between the absence and the presence or at the end of the spectrum, high and low tides passing the waves of four Seasons.
And amidst the universal shift of flow and attraction, the turbulence of the invisible concept of time and the interrelationship. The repetitive movement presented in the accumulated incoherently of transformation (of waves) has a constant phase. In the echoes of arrival, Nothing is still.
