Own imagery

Over the years Susan Schildkamp has developed her own imagery to express the things that move her. She has found a technique that visualises the colours which exist in her fantasy. Clear, transparent, but mostly intense.

Fantasy

The themes in her artworks are in between reality and illusion. Houses sway in the wind, a tower falls from heaven, a fairground horse floats above the water and perspectives alternate constantly. Sometimes it even seems like the top is a sea and the bottom is the sky. To that effect the work of Susan Schildkamp can be considered both abstract and realistic. Yet there is no mention of a contrast, her artworks form a whole.
