With great pleasure, we announce that during KUNSTRAI, we will present the work of Laura Maria Hamstra, Simone Boon, Erwin Verkade, Aron Kroes, and Roosje van Donselaar. You can find us at booth number 55, where we are ready to tell you all about this group of talented artists!

Laura Maria Hamstra translates human emotions into stylized, pop art-like textile works. Her work is a combination of refined textures and dynamic shapes. Inspired by, among other things, surrealism, she portrays a range of emotions, sometimes charismatic and layered, other times introspective or vulnerable. She captures the nuances of the human experience, often with a playful touch that results in vibrant compositions.

Simone Boon creates photographic work, and an important theme for her is identity from a female perspective related to a philosophy of becoming. By considering transitions as the only existing form, her photography increasingly becomes a play with light, color, materials, and human body movements.

Erwin Verkade graduated in 2016 from the Willem de Kooning Academy. Inspired by Japanese culture, traditions, art, and primarily woodcuts from the period 1603-1867, he tries to express the calm and magic of this culture in his own way.

Aron Kroes focuses mainly on painting, seeking the boundaries of the figurative. The application of abstraction arises from an intuitive approach. It is a representation of feeling, experiences, and technique, with no compromises made. The interpretation is free, allowing the portrait to function as a mirror for the viewer.

Roosje van Donselaar explores the properties and characteristics of materials through intuitive creation. During the process, the possibilities and limitations emerge. In addition to this tactile journey, Van Donselaar analyzes the historical value of the material. She investigates its meaning by delving deeply into science, myths, legends, and studies of (lost) civilizations.
